I loved it it was an amazing game but i kept thinking someone was constantly messing with the doors, I got the "caught" ending and when i turned around to explore some more, there was no jumpscare but i jumped and almost threw my laptop lmao, please make more games like this, and ik the creator probably isnt going to see this but, keep up the amazing work and to all who read this, HAVE AN AMAZING DAY!
Thx 4 the feedback. I agree the mouse sensitivity is inconsistent across builds. From what I can gather, GetAxis functions shouldn't need to be multiplied by deltaTime as Unity handles that automatically, but what I also found out was that the sensitivity on WebGL is naturally much higher because of what it defines as a 'pixel' of space. Instead of fiddling too hard with that I've just tweaked the code a bit and increased the range of mouse sensitivity from the pause menu. As for the movement, that should now also be consistent across platforms/framerates.
Yeah that's the confusing thing, it was kind of the community vs. Unity on that one. If I update this game again I'll look deeper into it but I think I'll just have to let the sensitivity slider be the solution, and keep working on my new game for now, where I have better debug tools to test stuff like that. 👍 Thx again for the feedback.
My girfriend's favorite developers are also puppet combo and Rayll, we had so much fun playing flag guesser in F2F 3. Were really good at flags now and we like your game too. Put it on steam please <3
Glad you liked it. I agree, both of those devs have been big inspirations to me, and both are very talented. I'd like to create something polished that meets modern game standards while also being something I'm proud of before I decide to publish on Steam or other big game markets. Thanks, and nice song btw.
I hope you have the donate feature on your next game, id like to support the projects. Cant wait to see stuff on steam once you are happy with the product. ;)
that was great man i really liked the graphics and atmosphere so much, it really got me on tense congrats, so i hope you keep producing even though it was short and fast you did a great job keep it up!!
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's not my best work but I'm happy for any traction it brings to my portfolio. These things take time and I plan to only go up in terms of quality and entertainment. Great video btw 👍
sweet little game. love the style. I'm actually an aspiring indie dev myself. Could you elaborate a bit on how you make the vhs style and effects? Can't really wrap my head around it. Thanks!
So for the assets themselves. I sourced CC0 PBR models from places like CGTrader and Polyhaven. It's the same approach as if going for a photoreal look. I then baked the lighting using the Bakery GPU lightmapper, though the Unity lightmapper works fine too. As for the VHS effects, I used Retro Look Pro from the asset store. It's not cheap but a great way to achieve a range of styles easily. My inspiration was the Fears to Fathom game series.
A nice and short horror game about being home alone. The gameplay and style was really well made. I didn't think I'd get the bad ending though but it is what it is.
No problem I'm glad that I liked the game I appreciate you making it will there be anymore like that if so pls hit me up if so I would love to play them from the Web
I'd like to fix up some of the glaring issues with this game that have been bothering me since release. As of now though I am working on some new retro horror projects and experimenting with different styles. Would love to get a proper, commercial horror release at some point in the next couple years or so. Although, I'll do my best to make all of my small projects WebGL compatible.
um i installed the game so that i could play ut whe i lunchd i it just came up as a file that when opened just showed random code files like mono bleeding edge and unitycrashhandle im on mac is there anyway to fix that

cool man make more games :)
Way ahead of ya. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, great vid 👍
I 100% believe you took the characters from sketchfab
You'd be 100% correct.
camera movement and player movement are incorrectly implemented, either not multiplied by deltat time properly or something else is off.

mouse sensitivity was definitely affected by fps, and atleast according to https://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/Input.GetAxis.html
there is no multiplication by delta time done before giving it to the user.
